CITY CATEGORY FOR 7th PAY HRA
The Central Government has approved the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission and the HRA building rent allowance. For the HA, the commission divided the cities into three categories. XY and Z. According to this category, employees will be given HRA at the rate of 24, 16 and 8% respectively.
For example, your basic pay is Rs 20,000 and you live in Delhi. So you get 4800 rupees in HRA form and get your DA and other allowance in your basic salary. It is obvious that people have the curiosity to know which series you will benefit from.
After the 2011 poll, Pune and Ahmedabad have been placed in X from the Y series. So 21 cities have been placed in the category from the Z category. Based on this new qualifier, government employees will receive HRA from April 2014
